PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP ATTORNEY TARA WARD RECEIVES 2020 HONORABLE JUDITH S. KAYE COMMERCIAL AND FEDERAL LITIGATION SCHOLARSHIP
New York, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP Attorney Tara Ward received the Hon. Judith S. Kaye Commercial and Federal Litigation Scholarship from the New York State Bar Association Commercial and Federal Litigation Section (“Section”). Kaye Scholarships were announced during a reception the Section held via Zoom on January 19. A program in the Ceremonial Courtroom of the Southern District of New York is being planned for later this year.
To honor the memory of Chief Judge Judith S. Kaye, the Section created the Honorable Judith S. Kaye Commercial and Federal Litigation Scholarship through a gift made to the New York Bar Foundation. The Kaye Scholarship was awarded to female litigators who will be called Kaye Scholars, and it will pay for their attendance at the 2021 Commercial Litigation Academy. The goal of the Kaye Scholarship is to increase the number of women prepared to serve as first chair in large commercial cases. The Commercial Litigation Academy is sponsored by the New York State Bar Association and the Commercial and Federal Litigation Section.
Ms. Ward concentrates her practice in the area of commercial litigation. Her experience includes serving as an appellate court attorney for the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Appellate Division, Fourth Judicial Department, as well as a court attorney for the New York State Court of Appeals.
