Cross-Border Discovery, the GDPR, and the New Privacy Framework

team-member
Panelist: Anna Mercado Clark

The European and UK General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) impose strict restrictions on the processing and transfer of personal data—defined broadly to include any names, email addresses, or other data that allows any individual to be identified.  Yet U.S. discovery rules require large volumes of documents to be produced to adverse parties in litigation, and possibly used for court filings, depositions, and hearings.

Anna Mercado Clark joined other panelists for the webinar “Cross-Border Discovery, the GDPR, and the New Privacy Framework” to discuss the applicable rules and how litigation parties and counsel can use the new Privacy Framework or other transfer mechanisms to help navigate the conflict.
