Phillips Lytle LLP Partner Lisa L. Smith served as a speaker at the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Class Action National Virtual Institute 2020 held October 13-15. Ms. Smith participated in the panel discussion on Thursday, October 15, titled, “COVID Cases – Who’s Phishing, Who’s Legit?”
The panel discussion will address COVID-19-related class actions, in particular class actions by students and parents seeking refunds of college tuition and fees, class actions seeking business interruption insurance coverage for businesses affected by the pandemic, as well as litigation regarding the Paycheck Protection Program. These issues and others will be discussed by the people who are blazing new trails on these issues of first impression
