PHILLIPS LYTLE PARTNER RICHARD E. HONEN CONNECTS WITH ALBANY LAW STUDENTS TO DISCUSS CAREER PATHWAYS
Albany office leader visited his alma mater, sharing his experience in Venture Capital
Albany, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP Partner Richard E. Honen recently visited Albany Law School to meet new law students during orientation. Mr. Honen joined over 45 alumni at the Opportunity Pathways Networking Reception where he shared his experiences in entrepreneurship and technology law.
Mr. Honen leads the firm’s Venture Capital Team and focuses his practice in corporate, finance, and venture capital law, as well as complex commercial litigation. He provides corporate counsel to a broad spectrum of companies from startup to Fortune 50 and has lectured extensively, particularly on the topics of corporate law, venture capital, and angel investing.
During the event, he shared insights with students into today’s ever-changing legal industry. Additionally, his ongoing work to support the growth of Tech Valley’s startup ecosystem created opportunities for dialogue with students about the local economy, emerging companies, the region’s technology sector and how attorneys can facilitate growth in the space.
The reception welcomed Albany Law School alumni to give students valuable perspectives in various career paths as they begin their law school journey. Mr. Honen graduated from Albany Law School in 1985 after receiving his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Albany.
