Albany, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP Partner Richard E. Honen will be honored with the the Jeffrey A. Lawrence Lifetime Contributor Award at the CEG 2016 20th Annual Technology Awards Luncheon.
The event will be held on June 23, 11:30 a.m. at The Desmond in Albany, NY. The Awards attract hundreds of high-level area professionals in the business & tech sectors to recognize and honor the region’s most innovative and growth-oriented companies and individuals for superior achievements.
The awards also highlight the tech industries making great strides in Tech Valley – including advanced materials, manufacturing, renewable energy, biotech/medical, information technology and nanotechnology.
Mr. Honen focuses his practice in corporate, finance, and venture capital law, and complex commercial litigation. He is the firm’s Venture Capital Team Leader and is the Partner in Charge of the firm’s Albany office. He provides corporate counsel to a broad spectrum of companies from start-up to Fortune 50 and has lectured extensively, particularly on the topics of corporate law, venture capital and angel investing.
Mr. Honen has spoken to, judged and mentored hundreds of companies and entrepreneurs through business plan events, incubators and accelerators in New York and Canada. These include Venture B Plan, IgniteU NY, 43 North, entrepreneurship programs at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Siena College, the University at Albany, the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (SUNY Poly), Ithaca College, the Johnson School of Management at Cornell University, High Tech Rochester, The Entrepreneurs’ Network, UVANY and The Communitech Hub in Waterloo, Ontario, where he runs the firm’s Canada office.
