PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP PARTNERS ROBERT V. CORNISH, JR. AND RANA JAZAYERLI TO ADDRESS FORUM ON NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR NEW YORK CITY REAL ESTATE DEVELOPERS
The event, hosted by KPMG, LLP, and co-sponsored by Vidaris, Inc. and Phillips Lytle LLP, will explore new opportunities in Affordable Housing, Financing and Incentives
Washington, D.C. – Robert V. Cornish, Jr. and Rana Jazayerli, partners with Phillips Lytle LLP, a premier regional law firm that is recognized nationally for its legal excellence, will address a forum titled “New Opportunities for New York City Real Estate Developers: Affordable Housing, Financial and Incentives.”
The event will take place Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at KPMG’s conference center, at 345 Park Avenue, 37th Floor, in New York City from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Mr. Cornish and Ms. Jazayerli will discuss the EB-5 Immigrant Investor program as an alternative form of financing, which allows developers to attract foreign nationals willing to make a significant investment in the United States as a method of obtaining a green card. The Phillips Lytle LLP attorneys, considered leaders on this topic, will enlighten participants on how to capitalize on this opportunity.
Mr. Cornish and Ms. Jazayerli are scheduled to speak from 4:20 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
At Phillips Lytle, Mr. Cornish focuses on litigation, arbitration, regulatory and compliance matters for broker/dealers, investment advisers, hedge funds, commodity firms, institutional investors and family offices in the U.S. and abroad.
He represents clients on FINRA and NFA arbitrations and court proceedings, and represents securities and commodities registrants in connection with enforcement and disciplinary proceedings before FINRA, NFA, CFTC, SEC and state securities regulators. Having previously held positions of in-house counsel and Chief Legal & Compliance Officer with prominent investment firms, Mr. Cornish provides valuable insight and counseling for investment management clients with complex business management and marketing matters.
Mr. Cornish earned his J.D. from Samford University, Cumberland School of Law and his B.A. from Davidson College.
Ms. Jazayerli has extensive expertise in the EB-5 Immigrant Investor visa program, providing assistance to individuals seeking U.S. permanent residency through investment, and U.S. companies seeking EB-5 Regional Center designation to allow them to finance job creating projects.
In addition, Ms. Jazayerli provides counsel on all areas of U.S. immigration law, with a focus on employment based visas, counseling employers on a broad range of immigration matters including hiring of foreign nationals under temporary employment visa categories such as H- 1Bs and L-1As. She also advises employers on proper I-9 form compliance, and use of the federal E-Verify employment authorization program.
She earned her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, an M.A. from American University, School of Communication, and a B.S.F.S. from Georgetown University, School of Foreign Service.
