PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP AND MARVIN AND COMPANY, P.C. TO HOST STARTUP BOOT CAMP, “EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR BUILDING A SUCCESSFUL COMPANY”
Albany, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP, a premier regional law firm that is recognized nationally for its legal excellence, and Marvin and Company, P.C., one of the Capital Region’s leading accounting, auditing, taxation and management consulting firms, will host a startup boot camp titled “Everything You Need to Know for Building a Successful Company” on Thursday, September 24. The event will be held at SUNY Polytechnic Institute Colleges of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, 257 Fuller Road Albany, NY 12203, at 11 a.m. Phillips Lytle Partner Jeffrey B. Schwartz and Kevin P. O’Leary, CPA, Director, of Marvin and Company P.C., will present.
The boot camp is intended for those looking to start a company and owners of companies within the first five years of operation.
Designed to connect aspiring founders to improve their ideas and entrepreneurial skills, topics may include:

Mr. Schwartz concentrates his practice in banking and corporate law, including venture capital transactions, equity/asset acquisitions and dispositions and general corporate counsel services. He regularly works with startups, technology and emerging growth companies through all stages of their growth, from formation through dealings with venture financing and other capital raising initiatives. In addition to his experience with such clients, Mr. Schwartz also represents various capital providers, from angel investors to venture capital funds.
Mr. O’Leary began his career with Marvin and Company in 1999 and became a Director in 2010. He has more than 14 years of experience in non-profit, manufacturing and ERISA plan audits as well as corporate and personal income tax. He currently serves on the Small Business Committee for the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce. He is also very involved in the local startup community as an investor with Eastern NY Angels and a sponsor of local events such as Start-up weekend at Grand-Slam Alley and the Colleges of Nanoscale Science and Engineering as well as many college incubator programs.
