PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP ATTORNEY PATRICK T. FITZGERALD NAMED CHAIR OF THE BAR ASSOCIATION OF ERIE COUNTY ENVIRONMENTAL LAW COMMITTEE
Buffalo, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle Attorney Patrick T. Fitzgerald was appointed as Chair of the Bar Association of Erie County Environmental Law Committee for the 2018-2019 year.
The Environmental Law Committee provides environmental practitioners and other attorneys with a forum for discussion of current environmental legal trends, DEC/EPA regulatory, statutory, and enforcement initiatives, and current or emerging case law. It also provides education and community/academic outreach programs. The committee has frequent speakers on a wide variety of environmental topics.
Mr. Fitzgerald focuses his practice on environmental law. He counsels clients on environmental and regulatory compliance at both the state and federal levels, including matters related to the State Environmental Quality Review Act, State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System, the New York Uniform Procedures Act (environmental permits), and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (federal and New York State programs). In addition, he advises and aids in the defense of clients that are faced with investigation and enforcement proceedings by state and federal agencies, including the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the United States Environmental Protection Agency. His experience lends itself to a wide range of environmental regulatory and enforcement issues.
Mr. Fitzgerald also handles land use and zoning, real estate, and energy matters. He has significant experience representing clients before local land use agencies for numerous issues, including site plan approvals, special permits, variances, subdivision plans, and rezonings. He also assists clients with the sale, acquisition, and leasing of real estate for reasons ranging from commercial development to the installation of energy facilities (wind and solar).
