Phillips Lytle LLP Receives Award for Pro Bono Work

The ACA member company is recognized by the New York State Bar Association for its work with people in need of legal assistance.

Phillips Lytle LLP, an ACA member company in Buffalo, N.Y., received one of the New York State Bar Association’s President’s Pro Bono Service Awards on May 2 during a ceremony at the State Bar Center in Albany, N.Y.

The NYSBA President’s Pro Bono Service Awards recognize outstanding pro bono contributions made by individual attorneys, law students, law firms, corporate counsel and/or government offices.

Phillips Lytle was selected for its dedication to providing legal services to the indigent, low- income and disadvantaged individuals and families as well as not-for-profit institutions that contribute to an increased quality of life across New York, according to a news release from the company. The firm’s pro bono work includes civil and criminal matters and non-litigation legal assistance. The work includes matters that broadly impact communities, representation of those in need in high-volume court settings as well as complex individual case representations.

In 2015, Phillips Lytle attorneys in the Buffalo office devoted more than 3,300 hours to pro bono work
