WILLIAM D. CHRIST, PARTNER WITH PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP, HAS BEEN NAMED CHAIRMAN OF NIAGARA USA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Buffalo, N.Y. – William D. Christ, a partner with Phillips Lytle LLP, a premier regional law firm that is recognized nationally for its legal excellence, has been named chairman of the Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce board of directors.
Mr. Christ, who has served on the Chamber’s board since 2004, will be officially installed as chairman at its annual Chamber Honors 2015 Gala Dinner on February 27, 2015. The event will take place at the Seneca Niagara Casino and Hotel Event Center, in Niagara Falls.
The Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce is the recognized voice for business, advocating and communicating on behalf of the membership and promoting the Niagara Region. The chamber is also committed to partnering with its members, public officials and the community to create a climate that strengthens job growth and investment in Niagara County.
At Phillips Lytle, Mr. Christ focuses his practice in the area of litigation. He has significant experience in the defense of personal injury, products liability, workplace accident and construction claims, as well as insurance coverage and corporate litigation, including contract disputes and business torts. Mr. Christ also has represented corporations in the defense of class actions. He is a member of the Canadian Cross Border Team.
Selected for the Upstate New York Super Lawyers® list, 2009-2014, he was also an honoree of the New York State Bar Association Empire State Counsel® Program for Pro Bono Work in 2011, 2013 and 2014, and the U.S. District Court, Western District of New York, Special Service Award for Pro Bono Service in 2000.
Mr. Christ received his J.D. from New York University School of Law, and graduated with his B.A., magna cum laude, from Boston College.
Mr. Christ has served in leadership roles for several community and business organizations, most notably, the Western New York Division and New York State Chapter of the March of Dimes. He served as chairman of the NYS Chapter 2011 through 2013, and received the organization’s Leo Jaffe Distinguished Volunteer Service Award in 2013. He is also active in the Diocese of Buffalo, Boy Scouts of America and St. Gregory the Great Parish.
