PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP TO HOST BUFFALO NIAGARA HUMAN RESOURCES ASSOCIATION MONTHLY MEETING: “MARIJUANA IN THE WORKPLACE”
Buffalo, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP will host the Buffalo Niagara Human Resources Association (BNHRA) Monthly Meeting: “Marijuana in the Workplace.” The event will take place at Phillips Lytle’s downtown Buffalo Office located at One Canalside on November 20, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Due to the legalization of medical marijuana in New York State, and decriminalization of possession of small amounts of marijuana, a number of issues and questions have been raised by HR professionals regarding drug testing, reasonable accommodation obligations, and a variety of related situations. Phillips Lytle Partner James D. Donathen will cover the latest updates and information HR professionals need to know.
Mr. Donathen has practiced in the area of workplace law and litigation for more than 30 years. He handles federal and state discrimination lawsuits and agency charges under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, and the N.Y. Human Rights Law, and investigates and litigates employee disloyalty matters, including covenants not to compete, trade secrets, confidential information, and theft of product.
