PHILLIPS LYTLE PARTNER RICHARD E. HONEN NAMED TO INNOVATE 518 ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Albany, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP Partner Richard E. Honen was named to the advisory committee for Innovate 518, the Capital Region Innovation Hot Spot.

Innovate 518 orchestrates a robust and connected entrepreneurial ecosystem of incubators, accelerators, and support organizations to assist in growing sustainable and scalable technology ventures. Innovate 518 is a partnership between the University at Albany, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and the Center for Economic Growth, and is designated as a New York State Innovation Hot Spot by NYSTAR.

The main purpose of the Innovate 518 Advisory Committee is to provide strategic direction, identify best practices from outside the Region, and when needed provide access to resources for startup companies within the region.

Mr. Honen focuses his practice in corporate, finance, and venture capital law, and complex commercial litigation. He is the firm’s Venture Capital Team Leader and is the Partner in Charge of the firm’s Albany office. He provides corporate counsel to a broad spectrum of companies from start-up to Fortune 50 and has lectured extensively, particularly on the topics of corporate law, venture capital, and angel investing. He also represents companies in complex commercial litigation matters.
