PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP PARTNER WILLIAM J. BROWN TO PRESENT AT THE 13TH ANNUAL WESTERN NEW YORK BANKRUPTCY CONFERENCE
Rochester, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle Partner William J. Brown will present at the 13th Annual Western New York Bankruptcy Conference. The Conference will be held at Genesee Community College on Friday, June 3rd.
Mr. Brown will discuss three developing and somewhat unsettled issues of interest to bankruptcy practitioners including:
- The Intersection of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Bankruptcy Code
- Section 523(a)(2)(A) – Circuit Split and Other Interesting Section 523 Issues
- Equitable Mootness: Judicial Rumblings
Mr. Brown, a Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy, is the Team Leader of the firm’s Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Practice. He practices in the area of bankruptcy and restructuring law including creditors’ rights, workouts, bankruptcies and reorganizations, secured transactions and asset-based financing. As part of that practice, he also advises extensively on lender liability issues, the structuring of highly leveraged financing transactions and environmental laws. Mr. Brown has been actively involved in many of the largest and most complex bankruptcies in the United States involving a wide range of businesses and industries.
