PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP PARTNER KEVIN J. MULVEHILL SPEAKS AT MONROE COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION CENTER FOR EDUCATION EVENT
Rochester, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP Partner Kevin J. Mulvehill presented at the Monroe County Bar Association Center for Education event titled “Defending an Employment Discrimination Complaint before an Administrative Agency.” The event will took place on Wednesday March 22nd at The Rubin Center for Education, One West Main Street, in Rochester. Phillips Lytle Attorney Allissa M. Fortuna-Valentine was chair of the event.
The program is designed for new attorneys, and for seasoned attorneys who are new to employment law, who want to learn the ins and outs of employer defense. The program covered all phases of an employment discrimination claim before an administrative agency, from first receipt of the complaint, to conducting a hearing before an Administrative Law Judge.
Mr. Mulvehill’s practice is business-oriented and broad based. He concentrates his practice in commercial litigation, labor and employment litigation, wage and hour class and collective action litigation, and counseling and representing public and private sector employers.
Ms. Fortuna-Valentine concentrates her practice in the area of business litigation, with particular emphasis on labor and employment law. She works with businesses on immigration-related employment matters, including defending companies fined for I-9 violations, and assisting with applications for various nonimmigrant and immigrant business visas. Her practice experience includes defense of employers faced with employment discrimination suits in Federal court, as well as representation of employers before the New York State Division of Human Rights and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Additionally, Ms. Fortuna Brennan’s practice experience includes representation of businesses with regard to collections claims, breach of contract claims, and shareholder disputes.
