PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP PARTNER CRAIG R. BUCKI ELECTED TO AMERICAN LAW INSTITUTE
Buffalo, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP Partner Craig R. Bucki is among 58 new members elected to The American Law Institute (ALI). New members of ALI were selected from confidential nominations submitted by ALI members. These highly regarded judges, lawyers, and law professors bring a wide range of perspectives and areas of expertise to ALI’s work of clarifying the law through Restatements, Principles and the Model Codes.
Mr. Bucki focuses his practice on litigation involving state and municipal government, public authorities, and other quasi-governmental entities. In this practice area, Mr. Bucki has experience in prosecuting disciplinary hearings against public employees, representing political candidates in election law disputes, challenging the constitutionality of state statutes and municipal ordinances, obtaining review of the decisions of state and municipal agencies in special proceedings pursuant to Article 78 of the New York Civil Practice Law and Rules, and advising governmental clients concerning issues of governance and compliance with state law. Mr. Bucki also devotes a portion of his practice to representing business entities in commercial disputes and homeowners’ associations in enforcing real property covenants.
The American Law Institute (www.ali.org) is the leading independent organization in the United States producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize, and otherwise improve the law. The Institute—made up of judges, lawyers, and law professors of the highest qualifications—drafts, discusses, revises, and publishes Restatements of the Law, model statutes, and principles of law that are enormously influential in the courts and legislatures, as well as in legal scholarship and education. ALI has long been influential internationally and, in recent years, more of its work has become international in scope.
