PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP HOSTED ITS FIRST-EVER “PHILLIPS LYTLE LEADERS IN THE MAKING CONFERENCE” FOR BUFFALO PREP STUDENTS ON SATURDAY, MARCH 28, 2015
The program brought Phillips Lytle attorneys as well as community and business leaders together with Buffalo Prep students for one-on-one mentoring sessions at Phillips Lytle’s Buffalo office
Buffalo, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP, a premier regional law firm that is recognized nationally for its legal excellence, hosted the first-ever “Leaders in the Making” conference at its offices at One Canalside, on Saturday, March 28, 2015.
The event brought about 40 Buffalo Prep students together with local business and community leaders for one-on-one mentoring sessions. The leaders also joined with Phillips Lytle attorneys to mentor the students in financial literacy, resume writing, interview skills, and team building. Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown provided opening remarks on leadership.
The mentoring conference targeted Buffalo Prep’s mission to prepare promising economically disadvantaged, underrepresented students for success in college preparatory high schools and higher education. Buffalo Prep is a dedicated organization that works with private, public, and charter high schools to help disadvantaged youth take advantage of a first-rate college-preparatory education.
In addition to Mayor Brown, and Phillips Lytle attorneys, other participants included Buffalo City Court Judge JaHarr Pridgen, and representatives from: BLOCK Club; the Buffalo News; Buffalo OB/GYN; Crowley Webb and Associates; EdCo; First Niagara Bank; Imagine Staffing; M&T Bank; M&T Securities; Niacet Corporation; Nichols School; Rodriguez Construction Group, Inc.; Say Yes Buffalo; Seneca Holdings; United Way of Buffalo; and the University at Buffalo.
