Phillips Lytle LLP Partner Anna Mercado Clark Named to American Bar Association Science and Technology Law Leadership Section

New York, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP Partner Anna Mercado Clark, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, FIP, has been appointed to three leadership positions on the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Science and Technology Law Section. Ms. Clark will assume the roles of Vice Chair for the Cloud Computing Committee, Co-Chair of the Privacy and Computer Crime Committee and Member of the Membership and Diversity Committee.

The ABA Science and Technology Law Section provides leadership on emerging issues at the intersection of law, science and technology, and promotes sound policy and public understanding on such issues while enhancing the professional development of its members.

Ms. Clark is leader of Phillips Lytle’s Data Security & Privacy Practice Team. She has extensive experience advising businesses in the technology, consumer, health care, real estate, insurance, energy, construction, government and financial industries regarding information management, litigation readiness, cross-border data transfers, third-party data risk management, disaster recovery and more. She is an American Bar Foundation Fellow and is the development director of the Asian American Bar Association of New York. She is also president-elect of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association.

Ms. Clark has been awarded the following ANSI-accredited credentials by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP): Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E); Certified Information Privacy Professional for the U.S. Private Sector (CIPP/US); and Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM). She is also a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP). This array of privacy practitioner credentials demonstrates Ms. Clark’s deep and trusted expertise in privacy laws, privacy program management, data protection practices and data security.
