PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP PARTNER ANNA MERCADO CLARK TO PRESENT AT ABA’S INAUGURAL INTERNATIONAL LITIGATION SKILLS CONFERENCE
New York, N.Y. — Phillips Lytle LLP Partner Anna Mercado Clark will participate in a “master class” discussion on cross-border privacy and privilege challenges at the American Bar Association’s First Annual International Litigation Skills Conference.
The two-day virtual conference, presented by the ABA International Law Section, will focus on both the core skills of international litigation and developing issues.
Ms. Clark’s panel, titled “Privacy Versus Discovery: GDPR, the Electronic Information Storage Act and Other Issues,” is scheduled for Wednesday, May 26 at 11:45 a.m. EDT. The conversation will cover complications stemming from the implementation of GDPR and the completion of the Brexit process, including the conflicts that can exist in discovery proceedings involving U.S. and U.K. courts. Ms. Clark and the other panelists will offer insights into navigating jurisdictional differences in privacy and compliance requirements, electronic evidence, court rules and sanctions, and other matters.
As leader of Phillips Lytle’s Data Security & Privacy and e-Discovery & Digital Forensics Practice Teams, Ms. Clark focuses on complex e-discovery and digital forensics, cybersecurity and data privacy, and complex commercial litigation. She has been awarded the preeminent Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) designations by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). As a former Assistant District Attorney, she also handles white collar criminal matters and investigations.
The ABA will offer continuing legal education (CLE) credit to attendees. More information on the First Annual International Litigation Skills Conference is available on the event’s websiteopens in a new window.
