PHILLIPS LYTLE PARTNER ADAM S. WALTERS TO PRESENT “ZONING AND LAND USE LAW – THE LATEST AND GREATEST” AT NEW YORK UPSTATE CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN PLANNING ASSOCIATION ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN ITHACA

Ithaca, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP Partner Adam S. Walters presented on Zoning and Land Use Law – the Latest and Greatest (Law CM) at the New York Upstate Chapter of the American Planning Association Annual Conference in Ithaca held October 3-5.

Mr. Walters’ session provided a land use and zoning case law update summarizing important decisions and new trends in municipal land use and zoning issues from our state courts. It also included a discussion on current municipal trends for trying to address and resolve community opposition to development projects.

Mr. Walters’ practice focuses in the area of real estate development from initial planning and entity formation to project completion, including litigation related to project development. He is particularly experienced in land use and zoning matters, including environmental impact review pursuant to the State Environmental Quality Review Act and the National Environmental Policy Act. Mr. Walters has represented many developers and governmental agencies regarding the development of commercial and industrial projects, including the development of “shovel ready” business parks and matters related to economic incentives. He also has extensive experience in environmental law, including environmental due diligence and permitting for industrial facilities under the Clean Air Act.
