Phillips Lytle to host educational summit

Phillips Lytle LLP will present an educational summit on “Sexual Assault on College and University Campuses,” featuring Liz Seccuro, victim’s rights advocate, author and activist.

The day-long event will be Tuesday at the Harvard Club of New York City, 35 West 44th St

“I am thrilled to be a part of this exciting program,” Seccuro said in a release. “With the White House initiative and the recent media coverage of campus sexual assaults, this topic has never been more in the spotlight.”

Phillips Lytle has assembled a “Campus Accountability Team” of authorities who assist leaders at institutions of higher education. Representing a variety of experiences and perspectives, they have expertise in sexual abuse and exploitation, crisis management, regulatory compliance and due process.

The speaker lineup will also feature Ernie Allen, a leading global expert on child abduction, sexual exploitation, sexual violence and human trafficking, who will talk about “What Colleges and Universities Can Do Better When Responding to Sexual Violence.”

Among five Phillips Lytle attorneys who will present are Kenneth A. Manning, education practice team leader and partner in the firm’s Buffalo office who will deliver opening remarks; Amanda L. Lowe, an attorney in the Buffalo office, will address “What To Do When a Sexual Assault Has Been Alleged;” and Linda T. Prestegaard, a partner in the New York City, Buffalo and Rochester offices and employment practice team leader, will join Michael L. McCabe, an attorney in the firm’s Buffalo office, to discuss “A Case Study in Implementing Investigation Best Practices.”
