Buffalo, N.Y. — Phillips Lytle LLP announced it has added three new attorneys across three different practice groups to the firm. The newly added attorneys include:
Scott L. Sroka joins the firm as Special Counsel in its Litigation Practice Group. He served over 15 years as an Assistant United States Attorney in both Washington, D.C. and in the Western District of New York, where he also served as the First Assistant United States Attorney. Scott brings his experience from years in the U.S. Department of Justice, the United States Senate, and the National Science Foundation’s Office of the Inspector General. His expertise covers a broad range of areas that include, but are not limited to, white collar defense, internal investigations, including institutions of higher education and numerous federal agencies, as well as immigration proceedings, cross-border trade and policy, and all manners of civil and criminal litigation. Scott received his J.D. from Notre Dame Law School and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Canisius University.
Alyssa B. Russell joins Phillips Lytle as Senior Associate in the firm’s Banking and Financial Services Practice Group. Alyssa advises financial institutions on intercreditor issues, borrowers’ capital structure, purchase agreements and Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. Her experience includes out-of-court workouts, developing and drafting financing, sale and other key transactional documents, and advising secured creditors on both in- and out-of-court restructurings. Alyssa received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Notre Dame Law School and her B.A., summa cum laude, from Canisius University.
Zachary R. Hirschfeld joins the firm as Associate in the Land, Environment and Energy Practice Group, focusing on environmental law and energy and renewables. With significant experience across public, private and nonprofit sectors, Zack is a trusted counsel for clients who seek clarity on how policy and law affect a range of energy and environmental matters. A former New York State Excelsior Fellow, Zack has focused on regulatory law at the New York Power Authority and litigated enforcement actions at the New York State Office of Cannabis Management. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School and his B.A. from Bucknell University.
