The Minority Bar Association of Western New York (MBAWNY) has selected Phillips Lytle as the recipient of the organization’s Excellence in Promoting Diversity Initiatives Award, an award that is given to a law firm that has demonstrated exceptional commitment and achievement in fostering diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) within the legal profession.
Phillips Lytle’s DEI efforts center around creating an inclusive work environment and recruiting, developing and promoting diverse attorneys and staff. The firm participates in national and minority bar association recruitment efforts; supports scholarship programs and community engagement; consistently encourages attorneys to idea-share; uses equity impact analysis tools to ensure firm policies contribute to an inclusive and equitable culture; and provides robust training programs, responsive mentorship and competitive compensation packages.
Phillips Lytle was a Champion Sponsor of the Empire State Legal Diversity Career Fair hosted by the MBAWNY, the first ever minority job fair for the legal field in Western New York. The firm also established a scholarship and fund for a promising University at Buffalo law student.
