Buffalo, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP Partners James R. Grasso and Amanda L. Lowe will host the Buffalo Niagara Human Resource Association (BNHRA) Legal Update on Wednesday, June 16, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.
The presentation, held via Zoom, will provide New York State human resource professionals with the latest information on developing legal issues. Mr. Grasso and Ms. Lowe will address the legal landscape and share practical advice on the New York HERO Act, legalized recreational marijuana, the state’s paid sick leave law, and COVID-19 vaccination guidance.
The event is part of a strategic partnership between BNHRA — Western New York’s preeminent professional human resource organization — and Phillips Lytle LLP. Mr. Grasso represents management in the private and public sectors in all aspects of labor and employment law. He counsels clients on workplace policies and practices, as well as legal compliance issues, and represents employers in litigation concerning employment discrimination, harassment, wage and hour matters, wrongful termination, employment contract disputes, and confidentiality and non-compete agreements. Mr. Grasso appears regularly before state and federal courts in New York and before federal, state and local administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, New York State Division of Human Rights and New York City Commission on Human Rights. His practice also includes representing management in union organizing campaigns and collective bargaining negotiations, as well as in labor arbitrations and before the National Labor Relations Board and New York State Public Employment Relations Board.
