Employers should learn how to protect themselves outside of blanket noncompetes

Noncompete agreements prohibit employees – typically C-suite and other executives – from working for a competitor within a certain time frame after leaving their current employer. New York’s proposed ban on noncompetes came to a halt when Gov. Kathy Hochul vetoed the bill, asking for more parameters that specifically provided protection for middle-class employees.
