Phillips Lytle LLP Partner Anna Mercado Clark Presented at National Asian Pacific American Bar Association Convention

New York, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP Partner Anna Mercado Clark participated in a panel discussion on December 10, 2021, on the historical and current acts of aggression and insensitivity towards Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) in the United States. The presentation, titled “Kung Flu: A History of Hostility and Violence Against AAPIs,” was held as part of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association Convention in Washington, D.C.

The panel was the 13th in a series of historic reenactments presented by the Asian American Bar Association and examined the history of anti-AAPI violence and rhetoric from the late 1800’s through the current COVID-19 pandemic via narration, the reenactment of court proceedings and photos.

Ms. Clark was joined by several panelists, including the Honorable Denny Chin, U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit, the Honorable Ona Wang, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, and others.

Ms. Clark is the leader of the Data Security & Privacy Law and E-Discovery & Digital Forensics Practice Teams at Phillips Lytle LLP. Her practice is focused on complex e-discovery and digital forensics, cybersecurity and data privacy, and complex commercial litigation. She also has extensive experience in handling white-collar criminal matters and investigations and has earned ANSI-accredited credentials from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), including Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E); Certified Information Privacy Professional for the U.S. Private Sector (CIPP/US); and Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM). Ms. Clark has also been designated as a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP).

Additionally, Ms. Clark is a member of Phillips Lytle LLP’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee and is a founder and current Board member of the Filipino American Lawyers Association of New York.

She has been a member of the Asian American Bar Association of New York’s trial reenactment team for over a decade and was the recipient of Profiles in Diversity Journal’s 17th Annual Women Worth Watching Award as well as the Honorable Denny Chin ’78 Alumni Award for Excellence in the Legal Profession from Fordham University School of Law.
