The exemption allowing shoppers and importers to avoid duties on packages worth below $800 has now ended.

James K. Wholey spoke with WBEN regarding the duty-free status of low-value imports. An executive order eliminated the ‘de minimis’ exemption for international shipments worth $800 or less. Jim said the impact that consumers will feel first will be a possible increase of prices or delays in delivery for online businesses.
