Lauren offers clear and forward-looking legal counsel on all aspects of land use and zoning to move complex projects from initial applications to final approvals.

Lauren concentrates her practice in the areas of land use and zoning and environmental law. She provides strategic counsel to clients from the earliest phases of project development to project-related litigation. Lauren plans for, prepares and files applications for zoning permits and approvals, such as special use permits, site plan approvals, use and area variance requests, subdivision filings, rezonings and all related aspects of compliance with the State Environmental Quality Review Act. Her detail-oriented practice positions clients to achieve project objectives efficiently and on schedule.

She also counsels clients with regard to applications to the New York State Department of State Regional Boards of Review for variances from the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code. Her land use experience extends to telecommunications law, including the siting, development and modification of cell towers and other personal wireless service facilities across New York State.

  • Prepared successful applications for site plan review and area variance requests from the Buffalo Green Code for a not-for-profit institution’s strategic expansion of its downtown footprint.
  • Obtained site plan and subdivision approvals for an affordable housing development in the Finger Lakes region, including strategic defense of Article 78 challenges from project opponents.
  • Sought and received rezoning, site plan and special use approvals to permit the development of a galvanizing operation in central New York, including the coordination of environmental consultants on behalf of the client to prepare essential documentation for a timely and efficient environmental review.
