Firm Strengthens Key Practice Areas with Strategic Attorney Hires

Albany, N.Y. — Phillips Lytle LLP announced it has added two new attorneys to its Albany office, further strengthening the firm’s capabilities in trusts and estates and banking and financial services. Nicholas J. Thompson joins the firm as a Senior Associate in Phillips Lytle’s Trusts and Estates Practices Group and Joshua M. Goldstein joins as an Associate in the firm’s Banking and Financial Services Practice Group.

Nicholas J. Thompson is an experienced trusts and estates attorney who advises clients on multigenerational wealth preservation, business succession planning, international estate planning, charitable gifts and probate avoidance. Nicholas’ experience includes preparing wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, health care proxies and powers of attorney. Nicholas received his J.D. from New York Law School and his B.A., summa cum laude, from St. Francis College.

Joshua M. Goldstein has extensive experience representing banks and other financial institutions in commercial financing transactions, including commercial mortgage loans, construction loans, asset-based financing, small business loans and commercial line of credit loans. In addition, he has counseled corporate clients in mergers and acquisitions and other corporate-related transactions and matters. His experience also includes drafting and negotiating commercial leases, commercial real estate documents, and various commercial contracts such as contractor and subcontractor agreements, service agreements, joint venture agreements and licensing agreements. Joshua received his J.D., cum laude, from Western New England University School of Law and his B.S. from State University of New York at Oneonta.
