PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP PARTNER DAVID P. FLYNN TO SERVE AS MODERATOR FOR TWO UPSTATE VENTURE ASSOCIATION OF NEW YORK PANEL DISCUSSIONS AT “dig BUFFALO”
The discussions are scheduled back-to-back on May 13, 2015 at the “dig Buffalo” space on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus
Buffalo, N.Y. – David P. Flynn, a partner with Phillips Lytle LLP, a premier regional law firm that is recognized nationally for its legal excellence, will moderate two panel discussions for an Upstate Venture Association of New York (UVANY) event on May 13, 2015. The event will take place at the “dig Buffalo” co-working space on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, 640 Ellicott Street, in Buffalo.
Mr. Flynn will moderate a session titled “Financing Renewable Energy Deals,” from 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., followed by a session titled “Renewable Energy Manufacturing Opportunities in Upstate NY,” from 6:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Flynn is the Practice Team Leader for the firm’s Energy, Environment, Marcellus Shale, and Nanotechnology Practice Teams. Mr. Flynn’s practice is concentrated in the areas of environmental law and energy. With respect to environmental law, Mr. Flynn concentrates on regulatory compliance consultations and brownfield redevelopment. He has written extensively on environmental topics including environmental issues related to nanotechnology development. He was involved in the first successful conversion of a former industrial brownfield into a modern manufacturing facility in New York State.
In addition, Mr. Flynn advises clients on business development issues and the regulation of energy before state and federal authorities. He also advises clients on the development and siting of renewable energy, merchant power generating facilities, and licensing of hydropower projects.
Mr. Flynn has been listed as a Leading Individual for the past five years in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business for outstanding expertise in Environmental Law. He has also been named to the Upstate New York Super Lawyers® 2014 list and Who’s Who In Law, Business First of Buffalo and Buffalo Law Journal.
Mr. Flynn earned his J.D., cum laude, from State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law and his B.A. from SUNY Buffalo.
He is a member of the National Brownfield Association’s (NBA) board of directors and executive committee, as well as president of the NBA’s New York chapter. He is also an advisory board member of Incubators for Collaborating & Leveraging Energy And Nanotechnology (iCLEAN), and serves on the boards of directors for the Amherst Chamber of Commerce, Burchfield Penney Art Center and Zoological Society of Buffalo. He is co-chair of the energy committee of the Western New York Regional Economic Development Council.
