One in four employees consider leaving a job because of mental health concerns.

Jim O’Connor was quoted in a Rochester Business Journal article on the increase in requests for mental health accommodations by employees. He noted that employers are generally required to engage in the ADA’s “interactive process” (when it is reasonable to believe an accommodation may be needed), which is an ongoing, good-faith conversation between an employer and an employee to identify reasonable workplace accommodations that would allow the employee to perform the essential functions of their job.
