Phillips Lytle LLP Attorneys Speak At Connect (X) Conference In Orlando, Florida

Buffalo, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP Partner Douglas W. Dimitroff and Special Counsel David E. Bronston participated in the Connect (X) Conference organized by the Wireless Industry Association in Orlando, Florida, in early October. Both attorneys were featured in panel discussions, during which they provided insights from their depth of experience in the telecommunications industry.

Focused on “Powering Universal Connectivity,” Connect (X) is North America’s largest conference and trade show for the connectivity sector. It facilitates connections among power players in the industry, and it encourages idea-sharing and collaboration to drive the development and deployment of new solutions that contribute to universal connectivity and communication. Phillips Lytle LLP was among the industry leaders that sponsored this event.

Mr. Dimitroff participated in a panel session titled, “Deals and Deal-Making Trends in the Middle Market.” Focused on issues related to finance, capital and investors, Mr. Dimitroff and his fellow panelists discussed the rollout of 5G networks and the value of cell towers, which is expected to rise in the years to come. The session explored the businesses of private independent tower owners and their opportunities to maximize revenues, merge with other companies and pursue exit strategies.

As a board member and founder of the New York State Wireless Association with over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, Mr. Dimitroff has deep expertise representing leading telecommunications carriers, infrastructure providers and other clients involved in the industry. His representation has included transactional and litigation matters, such as permitting for wireless telecommunication carriers, tower owners and developers; and site leasing work, site development and asset sales and purchases throughout the U.S. He has particular expertise in distributed antenna systems (DAS) and other small cell networks, where he is involved with both business and regulatory aspects. Mr. Dimitroff also has extensive experience in commercial real estate and public-private partnerships.

Mr. Bronston was featured on a panel titled, “State Wireless Associations – Grassroots Outreach at the State and Local Levels.” During this policy and regulation-focused session, the panelists highlighted the wireless industry’s impact on the U.S. economy and local communities while exploring the important role state wireless associations can play in driving progress within local and state governments. The discussion examined the ways grassroots outreach can create the conditions for better understanding among lawmakers, their constituents and the wireless industry.

As the Telecommunications Team Leader for Phillips Lytle and a former general counsel for the NYC Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications, Mr. Bronston offers over two decades of expertise and deep knowledge into the industry’s growth, challenges and opportunities. Focused on telecommunications infrastructure, he has extensive experience with network licensing and infrastructure real estate issues. He has also represented all types of telecommunications service providers and carriers – with a particularly deep understanding of distributed antenna system networks – in negotiating franchise agreements with local governments and obtaining all necessary legislative authorizations and administrative licenses, permits and approvals. In addition, Mr. Bronston assists telecommunications companies with mergers and acquisitions and other transactional matters.
