NEW YORK, N.Y. – The New York City Bar Association awarded Phillips Lytle LLP Partner Anna Mercado Clark with the Huntington Her Hero Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2023 Fourth International Law Conference on the Status of Women on March 8, 2023, where she also served as a panelist. Anna was selected as an honoree of this award due to her work to advance the human rights of women and girls in the world and the pursuit of justice.
The International Law Conference on the Status of Women hosted by the New York City Bar Association’s African Affairs and United Nations Committees allows attendees to have critical conversations about the status of women and girls around the world, with a focus on how laws and policies have contributed, for better and for worse, to their current status. Anna joined other panelists to provide insights and expertise as to how the legal profession can address the situation to promote a more equitable and less discriminatory environment for women and girls. Furthermore, the panelists highlighted their efforts, and the efforts of their respective organizations, to promote gender equality and empower women and girls.
Anna is the leader of the Data Security & Data Privacy and E-Discovery & Digital Forensics Practice Teams at Phillips Lytle, a member of the firm’s Governing Committee and a member of the firm’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee. She focuses on complex e-discovery and digital forensics, cybersecurity and data privacy, and complex commercial litigation. As a former Assistant District Attorney, she also handles white collar criminal matters and investigations.
Anna is active and holds positions in numerous professional associations, including as president-elect for the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association and development director of the Asian American Bar Association of New York. She is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation, a founding member of the Filipino American Lawyers Association of New York, and an at-large trustee of the National Filipino American Lawyers Association.
