Buffalo, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP Associate Paula P. Plaza, CIPP/E, has been named Northeast Governor of the National Filipino American Lawyers Association (NFALA). With approximately 500 members in the bar association nationwide, Paula will represent the Northeast region, which includes Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Canada.
NFALA is a national bar association that “focuses its efforts on campaigns and programs towards advocating for justice, civil rights, and equal opportunity for the Filipino American community.” It also works to “establish a consistent pipeline of future legal professionals, increase diverse representation in the judiciary, provide business opportunities, and enhance career development.”
As part of this role, Paula will host virtual meetings with the various leaders to discuss upcoming events and serve as a liaison to the broader NFALA Board. Past key events include the general body meeting with law students and members, followed by a civil rights coalition panel with the Asian American Bar Association.
Paula is a member of the Business Litigation, Data Privacy and Cybersecurity, Technology, and White Collar Defense and Government Investigations Teams.
