PHILLIPS LYTLE TO HOST MONTHLY DATA SECURITY DOWNLOAD “ADDRESSING GOVERNMENT INVESTIGATIONS IN DATA SECURITY & PRIVACY MATTERS AND CRISIS SITUATIONS” AT ONE CANALSIDE DOWNTOWN BUFFALO OFFICE
Buffalo, NY – Phillips Lytle LLP will host the second in a series of their monthly “Data Security Download” at the firm’s One Canalside downtown Buffalo office. The program, titled “Addressing Government Investigations in Data Security & Privacy Matters and Crisis Situations,” will be held on Thursday, March 15th at 8 a.m. Phillips Lytle attorneys and staff will share knowledge of the ever-changing legal landscape and best practices as it relates to data security and privacy. The program is designed for in-house counsel, CISOs and CIOs, and business owners and management.
Phillips Lytle Partner and White Collar Criminal Defense & Government Investigations Team Leader Alan J. Bozer, Partner Anna Mercado Clark, and IT Litigation Support Specialist Jason J. Schroeder will present.
Topics to be discussed include:
- Managing data and conducting internal investigations in anticipation of potential government inquiries
- Responding to government inquiries and mitigating post-production risks
- Impact of Sedona Principles and GDPR on cross-border government and internal investigations
As chair of the firm’s White Collar Criminal Defense & Government Investigations Practice Team, Mr. Bozer is active in trying criminal and civil cases, as well as handling appellate and arbitration work.
Ms. Clark focuses her practice in the areas of business and commercial litigation, including banking/lender liability, and contract and business disputes. She also has extensive experience handling franchise litigation matters and e-discovery issues. Additionally, she counsels clients on best data preservation practices designed to mitigate data security risks while complying with regulatory and litigation hold requirements. As a former Assistant District Attorney, she also handles white collar criminal matters and investigations.
Mr. Schroeder has more than 20 years of experience in all phases of litigation case management. He has extensive expertise assisting clients in responding to governmental requests for electronic information.
The next program in the series, titled “Managing the Potential Impact of GDPR in Healthcare Facilities,” will be held on Thursday, April 19th.
