PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP PARTNER JENNIFER A. BECKAGE AMONG FINALISTS FOR INFOTECH WNY BETAS 2018 “WOMAN IN TECHNOLOGY” AWARD
Buffalo, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP Partner and Data Security & Privacy Team Leader Jennifer A. Beckage has been named a finalist for the Infotech WNY BETAS (Buffalo Emerging Technology Awards Showcase) 2018 “Woman in Technology” award. The winners will be announced at the BETAS Awards dinner, part of the Infotech WNY Technology Showcase, on May 3rd at RiverWorks in Buffalo.
Ms. Beckage has been involved with Infotech WNY and its community for nearly two decades. She is a previous board member for the organization.
The BETAS recognizes and celebrates Western New York’s organizations and individuals that set the standard for technological innovation and implementation, workplace culture, and industry activism. It is such enterprising work done every day that feeds economic development and technological excellence within the Buffalo Niagara region.
The “Woman in Technology” honors a woman in the technology community who designs and/or conceives innovative technological concepts that are proven through actual operating data; a woman who has accelerated and advanced her career beyond typical performance expectations (including work in the community).
As the firm’s Data Security & Privacy Team Leader, Ms. Beckage’s legal practice is focused on cybersecurity, data breach litigation, risk management, privacy, regulatory law and law enforcement. As a former technology entrepreneur and executive with a publicly traded company, Ms. Beckage brings a unique perspective to complex commercial litigation and data security matters.
Ms. Beckage is considered a thought leader in this space and regularly speaks on data security and privacy topics. She leads a team of more than 20 data security and privacy attorneys across Phillips Lytle’s footprint. The team regularly identifies and analyzes issues that IT departments might overlook to help put companies in legally defensible positions.
