PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP PARTNER CRAIG R. BUCKI NAMED 2014 CITIZEN OF THE YEAR FOR LAW BY THE AM-POL EAGLE

Buffalo, N.Y. – Craig R. Bucki, a partner with Phillips Lytle LLP, a premier regional law firm that is recognized nationally for it legal excellence, has been named “2014 Citizen of the Year” in the field of law by the Am-Pol Eagle.

The newspaper annually honors members and organizations of the Polish-American community in Western New York. Selections are based on nomination by readers which are reviewed by the editorial staff. Mr. Bucki is among 21 individuals and organizations designated for their contributions to the community in 2014.

The Am-Pol Eagle announced the 2014 honorees in its February 26, 2015, edition. The paper will run biographies of the winners in a future edition.

Mr. Bucki focuses his practice on litigation involving state and municipal government, public authorities, and other quasi-governmental entities. In this practice area, Mr. Bucki has experience in prosecuting disciplinary hearings against public employees, representing political candidates in election law disputes, challenging the constitutionality of state statutes and municipal ordinances, obtaining review of the decisions of state and municipal agencies in special proceedings pursuant to Article 78 of the New York Civil Practice Law and Rules, and advising governmental clients concerning issues of governance and compliance with state law. Mr. Bucki also devotes a portion of his practice to representing business entities in commercial disputes and homeowners’ associations in enforcing real property covenants.

He received his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Yale University.

Mr. Bucki was named to the 2013 and 2014 Upstate New York Super Lawyers® lists and was recipient of the Jefferson B. Fordham Award for Advocacy from the American Bar Association’s State and Local Government Law Section in 2013.

Mr. Bucki presently serves as an executive committee member and election inspection coordinator for the Amherst Town Democratic Committee, is president of the Western New York Chapter of the Kosciuszko Foundation, and is a member of the Finance Council at St. Gregory the Great church in Amherst.
