PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP COMMISSIONS PAINTINGS BY ALBANY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FOR FIRM’S DOWNTOWN ALBANY OFFICE

Albany, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP recently commissioned artwork by Albany High School students for the firm’s downtown Albany office. In total, 18 students from the high school created 12 paintings using materials donated by Phillips Lytle. All the pieces are Albany themed and will be displayed at the firm’s office located at 30 South Pearl Street in Albany. The winners’ artwork will be prominently located in the office.

“It is with great enthusiasm that our students have taken on the challenge of creating landscapes of Albany in partnership with Phillips Lytle LLP,” said City School District of Albany Art Department Chair Kate Wright. “This special endeavor is symbolic of the partnership between our public schools and the Albany community, and through the dedication and talent of Albany High art students and their teacher Kristine Monahan, the quality work of our students will now hang proudly in the Albany office of the firm.”

Along with the honor of having his work displayed, first-place winner Manny Sanchez received a $100 gift card for his entry “Corning Tower.” Runners-up Patrizzia Espina and Jessica Johnson received a $50 gift card for their joint work “Albany High School,” as did third-place winner Akili Bahati for “Capitol with Tulips.”

“As an Albany High School alum, I’m very excited to be able to display this work in our office,” said Phillips Lytle Managing Partner Kevin M. Hogan. “Phillips Lytle is committed to helping our communities thrive, in particular in the arts and education arenas. We are very proud to have collaborated with the school district on this great project.”

“When we moved to our new office late last year, we definitely wanted something unique and different for our walls,” said Phillips Lytle Partner and Albany Office Leader Richard E. Honen. “Rather than just purchase artwork, we wanted to be able to spotlight future talent and give back to our local students. The students at Albany High School did a great job of rising to the occasion and creating some outstanding pieces of art for Phillips Lytle.”
