PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP ATTORNEY ALISSA M. FORTUNA-VALENTINE TO RECEIVE WILLIAM E. MCKNIGHT AWARD FOR WORK WITH VOLUNTEER LEGAL SERVICES PROJECT
Rochester, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP Attorney Alissa M. Fortuna-Valentine will receive the William E. McKnight Volunteer Service Award from the Monroe County Bar Association (MCBA) for her work with the Volunteer Legal Services Project (VLSP). The award will be presented at the MCBA’s 2017 Law Day Luncheon on Tuesday, May 2 at the Joseph A. Floreano Riverside Convention Center in Rochester.
The William E. McKnight Volunteer Service Award is given annually to a volunteer attorney or attorneys whose pro bono service reflects the commitment to equal justice that Bill McKnight’s life exemplified. Bill McKnight was a dedicated pro bono attorney and valued member of the VLSP board.
Ms. Fortuna-Valentine concentrates her practice in the area of business litigation, with particular emphasis on labor and employment law. Her practice experience includes defense of employers faced with employment discrimination suits in Federal court as well as representation of employers before the New York State Division of Human Rights and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Additionally, Ms. Fortuna-Valentine’s practice experience includes representation of businesses with regard to collections claims, breach of contract claims and shareholder disputes.
