The program is designed for in-house counsel, CISOs and CIOs, and business owners and management.

The first program in the series, titled “New Data Regulations – Answers to FAQs,” will be held on Thursday, February 15th at 8 a.m. Phillips Lytle Partner and Data Security & Privacy Team Leader Jennifer A. Beckage, Partner James Kevin Wholey, Special Counsel Mary E. Burgess and Senior Associate Brendan S. Lillis will present.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS);

His specific focus is on the legislative, policy and compliance issues involved in international investment, trade and business development. Through his federal government relations and operations practice, he assists clients with transnational compliance matters (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, EAR, ITAR, export licensing and involvement with various sanctions regimes), and works frequently with the Administration and Capitol Hill.

Ms. Burgess advises business units on legal issues regarding data security, cyber breaches, regulatory compliance and corporate governance. She focuses her practice in the energy and telecommunications sectors, and has extensive experience handling regulatory proceedings and investigations of issues related to telecommunications network reliability and security before the New York Public Service Commission.
