PHILLIPS LYTLE TO HOST CYBERSECURITY SEMINAR AT CANALSIDE OFFICE IN DOWNTOWN BUFFALO ON MAY 17
Buffalo, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP will host a seminar titled “Pathways to Compliance: A Survival Guide to Navigating DFS Cybersecurity Regulation,” on Wednesday, May 17th. The seminar will be held at 8 a.m. at the firm’s downtown Buffalo office located at One Canalside. Phillips Lytle Partner Jennifer A. Beckage will be among the speakers.
The informative program will help attendees navigate through the complexities of complying with the NY DFS Cybersecurity Regulation, some provisions of which must be in place by August 28, 2017. The program will also provide an overview of cybersecurity insurance; discuss how legal plays a significant role in incident response and prevention, as well as public relations and government investigations; provide cybersecurity program approach; and discuss how the regulation will have a ripple effect and impact companies who support businesses in the financial, banking and insurance industries.
Ms. Beckage concentrates her practice on complex business disputes and commercial litigation involving, among other things, intellectual property, employee disloyalty, violations of non-compete agreements and other employment matters, breaches of contract, fraud matters, food product litigation, government investigations, class actions, and corporate compliance with regulatory bodies.
Ms. Beckage has extensive experience with a variety of technology-related issues, including data breaches, e-discovery, computer forensics, crisis planning and data policies, and social media. She has authored and presented on a variety of technology topics. Before beginning her legal career, Ms. Beckage was an owner of a technology-based company.
