PHILLIPS LYTLE ATTORNEYS JON P. YORMICK AND BRENDAN S. LILLIS TO PRESENT AT WORLD TRADE CENTER BUFFALO NIAGARA GLOBAL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM

Buffalo, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP Attorneys Jon P. Yormick and Brendan S. Lillis will present at the World Trade Center Buffalo Niagara Global Business Administration (GBA) Program on August 26, 2016. The event will be held at ECIDA, 95 Perry Street, in Buffalo.

Mr. Yormick and Mr. Lillis will present “Legal Aspects of International Trade.” This module includes the following topics: negotiating and preparing international commercial agreements, business opportunities and compliance with U.S. export controls and economic sanctions, global strategies for intellectual property and trade secrets protection, international commercial disputes resolution, and compliance with U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and global anti-bribery laws.

GBA program participants will learn how to conduct international market research, identify and analyze internal and external factors affecting a company’s ability to conduct international trade, introduce new products into new markets, and access resources for additional assistance.

Mr. Yormick is an experienced international business and trade attorney, practicing for more than 20 years. In his International Trade and Customs practice, Mr. Yormick represents U.S. and foreign clients before the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the U.S. Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), the U.S. Department of Treasury, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) on import and export laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). He has represented clients in the advanced manufacturing, advanced materials, aerospace and defense, distribution, electronics, energy, medical device, oil/gas, pharmaceuticals, professional services, steel, textiles and apparel, and transportation/logistics sectors.

Mr. Lillis concentrates his practice in all areas of intellectual property law, with particular emphasis on patent preparation and prosecution and opinion work in the software, mobile applications and electronic arts. In addition, Mr. Lillis assists clients with a wide variety of data privacy, security and technology issues, including the development of breach response strategies, defense of regulatory actions and preparing companies for cybersecurity risks associated with collecting, storing and processing personal data.
