Jamestown, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP Partner Jennifer A. Beckage and Associate Brendan S. Lillis will present at the CLE seminar “Security: The Next Frontier” on May 10th at the Robert H. Jackson Center in Jamestown.
Ms. Beckage and Mr. Lillis and will discuss recent data breaches mentioned in the news, common areas of vulnerabilities, legal and client-imposed security obligations, and recommended best practices.
Ms. Beckage concentrates her practice on complex business disputes and commercial litigation involving, among other things, intellectual property, employee disloyalty, violations of non-compete agreements and other employment matters, breaches of contract, fraud matters, food product litigation, government investigations, class actions, and corporate compliance with regulatory bodies.
Ms. Beckage has extensive experience with a variety of technology-related issues, including data breaches, e-discovery, computer forensics, crisis planning and data policies, and social media. She has authored and presented on a variety of technology topics. Before beginning her legal career, Ms. Beckage was an owner of a technology-based company.
Mr. Lillis concentrates his practice in all areas of intellectual property law, with particular emphasis on patent preparation and prosecution and opinion work in the software, mobile applications and electronic arts. He has a degree in computer engineering from Syracuse University, and prior to working at Phillips Lytle, was a patent examiner for three years in the United States Patent and Trademark Office in Alexandria, Virginia, where he worked in the computer memory art unit.
