FOUR PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP ATTORNEYS TO SPEAK AT THE NEW YORK STATE BAR
ASSOCIATION TRUSTS AND ESTATES LAW SECTION FALL MEETING

Buffalo, N.Y. – Four Phillips Lytle LLP attorneys will speak at the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) Trusts and Estates Law Section Fall Meeting. The event will be held September 14-15 at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo Hotel and Conference Center in Downtown Buffalo.

On day one, Phillips Lytle Partner and Chair of the Trusts and Estates Law Section Sharon L. Wick will provide introductory remarks at the meeting. Ms. Wick is the firm’s Family Wealth Planning Practice Group Leader. She specializes in estate planning, estate and gift taxation, and trust and estate administration.

Also on day one, Phillips Lytle Partner Benjamin M. Farber will present on the topic “Drafting Effective Shareholder and Operating Agreements for the Closely-Held Business and Pitfalls that May Arise for Estates in the Absence of Such Agreements.” Mr. Farber focuses his practice in the areas of corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and securities law compliance. He has advised various types of entities in corporate matters, ranging from start-up ventures to publicly held companies.

On day two, Phillips Lytle Partner and Program Co-Chair Holly A. Beecher will provide introductory remarks. Ms. Beecher concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration, elder law, estate and gift taxation, Medicaid planning, and adoptions. Her experience includes preparation of customized estate plan documents for clients, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care forms, and living wills focused on the tax and non-tax needs of clients.

Also on day two, Phillips Lytle Attorney Kenneth A. Grossberg will present on the topic “Inheritance Rights of Posthumously-Conceived Children and Posthumous Issues.” Mr. Grossberg concentrates his practice in the area of estate planning, advising clients on estate tax matters, wills, trusts, guardianships, health care proxies, living wills, and powers of attorney. He has extensive knowledge of the complex tax implications involved in estate matters and business transactions, and has significant experience representing clients before the Internal Revenue Service on a variety of international tax matters. He also advises on Medicaid planning.
