PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP EXPANDS DATA SECURITY & PRIVACY TEAM WITH ADDITION OF ATTORNEY CHRISTOPHER HAYES
Buffalo, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP announced the addition of Christopher Hayes as special counsel, based in the firm’s Buffalo office. As a member of Phillips Lytle’s Data Security & Privacy Team, he will focus his practice on data security, cybersecurity, and policy evaluation and preparedness.
Mr. Hayes joins Phillips Lytle from M&T Bank, where he served as senior data security, intellectual property, and contracts counsel, providing practical legal advice to all levels within the organization while working closely with the bank’s privacy, cyber security, third party risk management, and strategic sourcing teams.
Mr. Hayes joins a team of more than 20 Data Security & Privacy attorneys across Phillips Lytle’s footprint. The team regularly identifies and analyzes issues that IT departments might overlook to help put companies in legally-defensible positions.
“We are thrilled to be able to add Chris to our talented team of data security and privacy attorneys,” said Phillips Lytle Managing Partner Kevin M. Hogan. “Chris brings a unique skill set, having worked in-house in the financial services industry, and will provide invaluable insight to our clients.”
Mr. Hayes was previously an associate with Phillips Lytle from 2007-2014.
Mr. Hayes received his B.A. from Canisius College, and his J.D. from University of Notre Dame School of Law.
